About the event

Women remain targets of unwanted male aggression. Effective self-defense occurs when individuals quickly identify and avoid threats and use force to escape or incapacitate an attacker when a physical attack is inevitable. Women must use their size, skills, and abilities to respond to specific threats – there is no one-size-fits-all approach to defense.

Self-defense is a mindset first and physical force second. Don’t hesitate to set strong verbal boundaries for people you don’t know. Use overpowering force when the situation demands it. Keep it simple; effective self-defense techniques are not fancy.

Each of you has different reasons for learning self-defense. This is not a one-size-fits-all seminar. In order to identify your unique needs and customize self-defense training to match those needs, some information is requested, some of which may be personal and sensitive. Individual information will not be shared with anyone for any reason. Group information that does not identify any individual will be used exclusively to tailor instruction and maximize learning for everyone. If you prefer, sensitive questions also have an opt-out option.

The goals of this self-defense seminar are to:

• Determine how your physical and emotional experiences affect your ability to defend yourself

• Engage in self-defense best practices that build physical and psychological durability

Two steps to be ready to train:

  1. Complete the seminar participant survey before signing your registration consent.
  2. Complete the registration form.

We look forward to working with you!
